Riverside, Ca - The 13th ranked Cal State Northridge women's water polo team enjoyed its largest margin in the young 2009 season with a 15-3 decision over Cal Baptist on Saturday afternoon at the Cal Baptist Invitational.
Jillian Stapf collected ten saves in goal for CSUN.
The Matadors scored three goals in each of the first three periods, and then exploded for six in the final frame.
In the second game of the day, the Matadors stayed competitive with seventh-ranked Arizona State, but fell at the final buzzer, 7-6.
The Sun Devils took a 3-0 lead in the first period, and led 5-1 at halftime. But the Matadors refused to fold, outscoring the Pac-10 Sun Devils, 5-2, in the second half.
Jessica Coy led Cal State Northridge scorers with three goals.
