No. 4 UCLA Defeats #13 Cal State Northridge, 9-5

Westwood, Calif. - Fourth-ranked UCLA handed 13th-ranked Cal State Northridge a 9-5 defeat in a non-league women's water polo game on Saturday afternoon at the Spieker Aquatic Center.

Whitney Delgado led the Matadors with three goals.

The Bruins, the five-time defending NCAA champions, led 2-1 after the first quarter and add three more goals in the second period to lead 5-2 at halftime. UCLA outscored the Matadors, 2-1, in the third quarter to secure a 7-2 cushion. The Bruins and Matadors each registered two goals in the final quarter.

Jillian Stapf had ten saves for CSUN. The Matadors are now 7-2 on the season.

Sunday, Cal State Northridge travels to Cal State Bakersfield for a 12:55 p.m. game against Hartwick followed by a 4:10 p. m. contest against CSUB.
