February 19, 2011 Northridge, Ca. - Cal State Northridge scored two victories during non-league women's water polo play on Saturday afternoon in the home openers at Matador Pool.

In the first game, Cal State Northridge exploded for seven goals in the first period en route to an 18-7 victory over Cal State Bakersfield.

Heidi Pettinger and Whitney Delgado each scored two goals in the first period. Pettinger ended the game with four goals while Delgado had three goals.

Freshman Lindsy Nelson scored a season-high five goals for Cal State Northridge

Freshman Jenny Jamison scored two goals for the Matadors, her first goals as a collegian.

Cal State Northridge, ranked 12th in the nation, later in the day, scored a 10-5 decision over Occidental. Sydney Sonoda scored a game-high four goals in the win. Whitney Delgado and Lindsy Nelson added two goals.

The Matadors jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first period and were never threatened.
