#13 Cal State Northridge Loses Two Games at UC Irvine Invitational

Irvine, Ca. - Cal State Northridge dropped its two games on Saturday afternoon at the UC Irvine Invitational.

In the first game, fifth-ranked Hawaii overpowered #13 Cal State Northridge with five third period goals to eventually beat the Matadors, 11-6.

Heidi Pettinger led Cal State Northridge with three goals.

In CSUN's second game of the day, another five goal outburst by an opponent helped propel #15 UC Santa Barbara to an 11-8 verdict over the Matadors. Pettinger scored four goals to give her seven goals in the two games on Saturday.

Sunday at 10:30 am at Corona Del Mar High School, Cal State Northridge faces Cal State Bakersfield for the third time this season. The Matadors have beaten the Roadrunners in both games.

The winner of the CSUN-CSUB game will play on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 pm against the winner of the UC San Diego vs UC Davis game at Corona Del Mar High School. The loser of the CSUN-UCSB game will face the loser of the UCSD-UCD game at 5:15 pm at Corona Del Mar HS.
