Cal State Northridge Hosts Bucknell, Marist

Northridge, Calif. - The Cal State Northridge women's water polo team returns home to Matador Pool on Wednesday (3/16/11) when the Matadors hosts Bucknell at 2:15 p.m. and Marist at 6 p.m.

The Matadors, ranked 16th in the nation, are 14-11 this season.

Whitney Delgado continues to lead the team in scoring with 59 goals. Sydney Sonoda has 42 goals followed by freshman Lindsy Nelson with 27 and freshman Missy Doll with 16.

Nicole Concialdi has 118 saves in 16 games while Dana Harvey has 109 saves in 14 games.

Junior Whitney Delgado has 174 career goals, only 48 goals short of the CSUN school record held by Allison Brookes (222 goals, 2005-08) ... Chari Christopher resides in second place with 177 goals (2003-05) ... Delgado has 59 goals this year, sixth-best for a single season in school history ... Delgado holds the school record with 80 goals set last year ... Delgado also has 77 career assists, ninth-best in school history ... The Big West Conference fulfilled a two-year waiting period to earn automatic qualification to the NCAA Championship, meaning the winner of this year's conference tournament will receive one of eight slots in the national tournament ... The third annual Big West Tournament is set for April 29-May in Santa Barbara.
