Seven Water Polo Players Earn Academic All-America Honors

June 28, 2009

Northridge, Calif. - Not only did the nationally-ranked Cal State Northridge women's water polo team enjoy success with a 20-win season in 2009, several members of the Matadors have now earned post-season recognition for their outstanding work in the classroom.

A school record seven CSUN players have earned Academic All-American honors by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC).

Renee Gargiulo (Junior, Undeclared major, Clovis, Ca), Alyssa Goldie (Freshman, Kinesiology major, Riverside Ca), Kirra Kylander (Junior, Kinesiology major, Murrieta, C), Tara McGinley (Senior, English major, Villa Park), Kristin McLaughlin (Junior, Political Science major, La Canada, Ca), Ca), Alison Pierce (Junior, Liberal Studies, Citrus Heights, Ca) and Jillian Stapf (Junior, Kinesiology major, Hudsonville, Mi) have earned All-American status for their outstanding work in the classroom.
