One of the most decorated men's basketball players in CSUN history, Heinle led the program to its historic first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance. Playing as a 6-foot-9 center/forward from 1997 to 2001, Heinle graduated as the school's all-time leading scorer with 1,641Â points, which currently ranks third in program history. Heinle is also one of only six players in CSUN history to record over 1,000 points, 300 rebounds, 200 assists, and 100 steals.
As a senior in 2001, Heinle was the Big Sky Conference Player of the Year and led the Matadors to their first Division I regular-season title and an NCAA Tournament appearance. He captured MVP honors in 2001 after scoring 21 points in the championship game against Eastern Washington. He finished his final CSUN season averaging 20.2 points and 9.2 rebounds per game.
Following his graduation in 2001, Heinle went undrafted in the NBA and transitioned to a lengthy professional career overseas. He played for more than a decade in European top-flight leagues, primarily in Belgium (including teams like Gent Hawks and Melco Ieper), as well as stints in Austria, France, Hungary, and the Netherlands.
Heinle graduated from CSUN in 2001.
