Dan Pouliot was inducted into the CSUN Athletics Hall of Fame in 1991. Pouliot lettered for the CSUN Men's Golf team under legendary head coach Bill Cullum during the 1973-74, 1974-75, and 1975-76 seasons. Pouliot was a multi-time All-American and a key pillar of the team's historical success. He was a member of the legendary 1973 team that won the NCAA College Division Championship, alongside fellow All-Americans like Keith Lyford and Geoff Knowles. He achieved individual All-American status multiple times, earning second-team honors in 1973 and first-team honors in 1975.

Following his historic career at CSUN, Pouliot continued to find success as an amateur and senior amateur golfer in California: Representing the city of Burbank, he won the 2013 SCGA Senior Match Play Championship as a No. 20 seed, securing his first individual Southern California Golf Association title. Pouliot regularly competes in regional tournaments, including events like the CSGA Four-Ball Championship.

Pouliot earned his bachelor's degree in commercial recreation from CSUN in 1980.
