Dick Billingsley was inducted into the CSUN Athletics Hall of Fame in 1983. Billingsley lettered as a wide receiver for San Fernando Valley State under legendary coach Sam Winningham during the 1966 and 1967 seasons. Billingsley_Dick_HOF

Following the 1966 season, Billingsley finished as the fifth-leading receiver in the nation. At the conclusion of his collegiate playing career, he set 10 individual SFVSU (CSUN) school football records, including benchmarks for the most career receptions and touchdown receptions.

Billingsley was a key member and co-captain of the historic 1967 team that earned a berth in the Junior Rose Bowl. He was selected first-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) in 1967.

He returned to his alma mater to spend two seasons as an assistant coach for the Matadors football program before moving on to local high schools. Billingsley then built a highly respected coaching career in Southern California, leading programs at Culver City High School, Beverly Hills High School, and spending 19 seasons as the head coach at Oak Park High School until his retirement from coaching in 2008.
