Marwan Ass'ad

Marwan Ass'ad served as CSUN's head men's soccer coach from 1983-1998. Ass’ad, the second-longest tenured head coach in CSUN men's soccer history, helped establish CSUN as a perennial power at the Division II level over his 16 seasons at the helm.
Coach Ass’ad led CSUN to six consecutive NCAA regional appearances (1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989), highlighted by two national runner-up finishes in 1987 and 1988.
He also guided the program to six-straight CCAA championships from 1984-89. Ass’ad, the NCAA Far West Region Coach of the Year in 1986, would also serve as CSUN’s first Division I head coach in the history of the program, producing four double-digit win seasons in a nine-year stretch. CSUN won 192 games in his tenure as head coach, the second most in team history. He coached five first-team All-Americans and numerous All-Region and All-Conference selections in his career at CSUN.
