
CSUN Athletics Announces Partnership with Under Armour

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. --- CSUN Athletics has announced a multi-year partnership with Under Armour, the global leader in performance footwear and apparel, naming the brand the exclusive outfitter and supplier of CSUN Athletics.
"We're thrilled to partner with a premier brand like Under Armour," said CSUN Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Dr. Brandon Martin. "I'm very proud of how CSUN Athletics has grown over the past few years, and being affiliated with Under Armour helps elevate us towards our goal of comprehensive excellence and prove to our fans and supporters how serious we are about being an elite Division I athletics program."
"We are excited to welcome CSUN Athletics to the Under Armour family and look forward to providing best-in-class training and game-day footwear, apparel and equipment to the Matador student-athletes and entire CSUN community," said Sean Sullivan, Director, Sports Marketing, Under Armour.
The new partnership commences in July 2016 and will make CSUN Athletics Under Armour's first public institution partner on the West Coast and its first Big West Conference non-football partner.
Under the agreement, the footwear and apparel brand will provide the Matadors with official athletics apparel, footwear, accessories, sports equipment and connected fitness equipment for the term of the relationship. Under Armour will also have the exclusive right to sell authentic and replica CSUN Athletics products.
The Matadors unveiled the updated "Rise of the Matadors" visual identity and branding campaign in 2014 and will maintain their existing logo and brand identity. This partnership with Under Armour will allow CSUN Athletics to explore innovative ways to display the updated branding on athletics apparel and uniforms.
The Matadors excelled on and off the field of play and in the past year alone, won three conference championships with two programs ranked among the top 15 in the nation. CSUN Athletics' women's programs were recently named as one of the 100 best Division I women's athletics programs in the country and numerous CSUN coaches represent the United States coaching for their sports' national programs.
