COACH MICHELLE WINKLER SAID
"We couldn't have asked for more perfect conditions. No wind, 65 degrees with lift, clean, and place. Today was our opportunity to capitalize and start the tournament off strong. Unfortunately, we keep making the same poor decisions and lost too many strokes on the greens. If we can improve upon one area, it has to be our putting within 8' and in. These are costing us 3-5 strokes per player."
The Matadors will be paired with Eastern Washington, Idaho State and host Southern Utah for the second round which gets underway with a shotgun start Friday morning at 9 a.m.
