CSUN's Reuss Places 13th on Day One of Big West Multis Championship

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.---CSUN Track & Field's Audrie Reuss sits in 13th place in the women's heptathlon after day one of the 2024 Big West Multi Events Championships on Friday at the Miller & Capriotti Athletics Complex. Reuss registered 2623 points as she is just 72 points off the pace of the top-10.
Reuss began the day by setting a new personal record in the 100m-hurdles with a time of 15:44 to finish 12th overall with 784 points. She followed that up with an 11th-place finish in the high jump by posting a leap of 1.49m (4-10.5) to chart 610 points.
In the shot put, Reuss had her highest finish by placing eighth with a throw of 10.54m (34-7) for 565 points. Reuss closed the day by competing in the 200m where she registered a time of 27.59 to place 14th with 664 points.
Long Beach State's Hailey Fune' leads the field after day one with 3252 points.

"Audrie performed very well today. She started the day off with a big PR in the hurdles and carried that momentum throughout the day. After finishing day one of the hep with her best day one score, we look to bring that same energy into day two."

The final day of the Big West Multis will be held on Saturday with Reuss set to compete in the long jump and the javelin throw.
