CSUN SAAC Completes 2025 Canned Food Drive

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) recently completed its 2025 canned food drive, collecting 1,026 cans, which equated to almost 1,000 pounds of food donated to the CSUN Food Pantry.
The effort returned after a one-year absence and provided an impressive restart to a special annual effort. According to SAAC, the goal is to collect 1,500 cans or more in 2026.
"This food drive means a lot to me because it shows how much of an impact SAAC and CSUN Athletics can make on the greater community when we come together," said Marin Byars, SAAC Co-President. "I am thrilled that we were able to donate over a thousand cans to the CSUN Food Pantry. I think it reflects the care and time that all of our representatives have been putting into SAAC this year."
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) serves as the voice of student-athletes, promoting leadership, communication, and collaboration within the campus and athletic communities. SAAC is committed to advocating for the well-being, equity, and personal development of all student-athletes while fostering a culture of inclusivity, community, engagement, and academic excellence.
