Behind Tanoue's 3rd-Place Finish, Women's Golf Takes Fourth at Jackrabbit Invitational

BOULDER CITY, Nev. - Behind a third-place finish from sophomore Nicole Tanoue, the CSUN women's golf team posted its fifth top-five finish in seven events this season after taking fourth at the conclusion of the Jackrabbit Invitational Tuesday at Boulder Creek Golf Club.
As a team, the Matadors posted scores of 294-297-298 to finish fourth in the 15-team field at 25-over 889. Host South Dakota State claimed the team title by nine strokes, carding a team score of 15-over 879. The Jackrabbits also took home individual medalist honors as McKenzie Mages finished at 3-under 213 to win by two shots.
Tanoue posted her best tournament finish of the season, tying for third at 1-over 217 following rounds of 71-71-75. In Tuesday's final round, she was 3-over on the front nine before finishing at even-par on the back nine to finish the day at 75. Tanoue had her lone birdie on the back nine, along with one bogey and seven pars.

The Matadors will return to the course Mar. 24 for the opening round of The Nashville Invitational at the President's Reserve of Hermitage GC in Nashville, Tenn.

CSUNÂ SCORES
- Freshman Ariya Soldwisch posted her fourth top-10 finish of the season, tying for eighth at 4-over 220. Soldwisch had four birdies in the final round, three coming on the front nine, where she made the turn at 1-under. She then finished 2-over on the back nine to finish the day at 1-over 73, matching her low round of the tournament.
- Gracie Piar made it three CSUN golfers in the top 20 as she closed with five birdies in a final round 1-over 73. After posting a 78 in round one, Piar steadily moved up the leaderboard over the final two rounds, carding scores of 74-73 to finish tied for 19th at 9-over 225.
- Kim Turgut finished in a tie for 30th at 11-over 227 after posting a final round 5-over 77. Both of Turgut's birdies in the final round came on the front nine where she finished at 2-over.Â
- Meghan Paracuelles rounded out the Matador scoring, tying for 66th at 25-over 241 following rounds of 80-82-79.
