STOCKTON, Calif. - Behind Bryson Barnes' 2-under 70, CSUN Men's Golf posted a three-shot improvement from round one to round two, moving up to 12th place through 36 holes of the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational on Tuesday at The Reserve at Spanos Park.

Barnes, who opened the day tied for 31st, fired seven birdies and seven pars on Tuesday to finish the day at 2-under 7- which moved him into a tie for ninth place. Barnes got his round as low as 5-under through 13 holes before closing his round 3-over on his final five holes. At 1-under 143, he heads into Wednesday's final round just five shots behind leader Cade McVicker of Seattle (-6,

After opening with a team round of 8-over 296 on Monday, the Matadors carded a 5-over 293 on Tuesday to move up one spot on the team leaderboard. Host Pacific holds the team lead at 9-under, 567, while Cade McVicker of Seattle and Felix Bouchard of Pacific share the individual lead at 6-under, 138.

Also for the Matadors, Freddie Carcamo moved into a tie for 55th at 5-over 149 following a 2-over 74 in round two. After finishing 5-over on his opening nine holes, Carcamo shot a blistering 3-under on his final nine to finish at 2-over 74.
Ethan Posthumus is also tied for 55th at 5-over 149 after finishing the second round at 3-over 75. Posthumus had two birdies and 12 pars in Tuesday's round.
Liam Judkins is tied for 79th at 10-over 154 following rounds of 74-80.
Junior Tavin Boman is tied for 84th at 12-over 156 following rounds of 82-74.
Sophomore Mason Ho is competing for the Matadors as an individual, and is currently 99th at 22-over 166 following rounds of 81-85.
