NORTHRIDGE, Calif. — A cleaner clinical environment and new rehabilitation technology are helping strengthen the student-athlete experience at California State University, Northridge.
The CSUN Sports Medicine Clinic recently received new vinyl flooring, providing a modern, professional setting for student-athletes, athletic trainers and staff. The durable surface is easier to maintain and supports the clinic's ongoing cleanliness and infection-control efforts.
"These improvements reflect our ongoing commitment to providing student-athletes with a high-quality healthcare environment and the resources necessary to support their recovery," said Steve Grech, CSUN Associate Athletics Director for Health & Wellness and Head Athletic Trainer. "By investing in our clinical spaces and rehabilitation technology, we're strengthening our ability to deliver comprehensive care and help student-athletes progress safely from injury rehabilitation to a successful return to competition."
Beyond its refreshed appearance, the upgraded flooring improves the clinic's functionality and creates a more welcoming space for student-athletes as they work through the rehabilitation process.
The area also added an OxeFit XP1 rehabilitation system this summer. Designed to support athletes through multiple stages of recovery, the XP1 offers adjustable resistance and controlled loading that can be adapted as an athlete progresses from therapeutic exercise to functional strength training and sport-specific movement.
The system also has the potential to provide objective performance data, helping sports medicine and sports performance staff monitor progress, establish benchmarks and make informed rehabilitation decisions. In that way, the XP1 can help bridge the gap between injury rehabilitation and a student-athlete's return to full athletic performance.
CSUN continues to emphasize collaboration between Sports Medicine and Sports Performance to support student-athletes throughout injury prevention, rehabilitation and the transition back to competition.
The improvements reflect CSUN Athletics' continued investment in the facilities, technology and resources that support student-athlete health, wellness and performance.
Together, the clinic improvements reflect CSUN Sports Medicine's continued commitment to creating a professional, supportive environment and providing student-athletes with the resources they need throughout recovery and return-to-play.
