CSUN Water Polo Honors Faculty on Most Valuable Professor Night

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – Women's Water Polo recognized eight CSUN faculty members during the Matadors' MVP (Most Valuable Professor) Night on Feb. 6 at Matador Pool. CSUN student-athletes celebrated the professors who have made a meaningful impact on them in the classroom and beyond.
"CSUN student-athletes continue to achieve at a high level thanks to the support of CSUN Faculty," said Ryan Swartwood, CSUN's Director of Athletics. "The MVP games are essential for our Athletics Department as we gather and celebrate our Faculty and express our gratitude for their contributions."
Each participating student-athlete nominated one professor who has helped shape their academic journey. Six of the eight professors were in attendance and were recognized on the pool deck alongside their nominating student-athletes.

- Stephan Chung, Health Sciences Department, was invited by Kianna Melvin.
- Casey terHorst, Biology Department, was invited by Dakota Bumbaca.
- Elizabeth Dallas, Art Education Department, was invited by Marjorie Krueger.
- Sabina Erickson, English Department, was invited by Raygan Carroll.
- Gidget Viani, Psychology Department, was invited by Leah Huisar.
- Glen Whitman, Economics Department, was invited by Ashley Strickland.
- Caroline Hu, Art Department, was invited by Ella Furuholmen, but was unable to attend the ceremony
- Jessica Vey, Chemistry and Biochemistry Department, was invited by Alexis Smith, but was unable to attend the ceremony.
