NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---CSUN women's basketball players Jite Gbemuotor and Saray White each earned All-Big West Honorable Mention honors for the 2025-26 season, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Â
Gbemuotor, who transferred from Ole Miss this past offseason, has proven to be a focal point of the Matador squad this season in not only scoring but rebounding as well. Gbemuotor has played in all 29 games, starting 19 times. She is third in scoring at 9.4 points per game but is by far the best rebounder at 8.3 boards per game. She has recorded nine double-doubles so far this year and 10 double-figure rebound games.Â
Â
The sophomore from Delta State, Nigeria has really tuned it on in the latter part of the season. Gbemuotor has scored in double figures in eight out of the last nine games. She also has registered double-doubles in six out of the last nine games of the year.
Â
White, a junior guard from Sacramento, transferred from Cosumnes River Community College this past offseason and has been one of, if not the best, offensive threats for CSUN this season. She leads the team in points per game at 10.3 and is second in rebounds at 4.1 per game. She scored a career-high 26 points against Cal State Fullerton on Jan. 10, the most points scored by a Matador this season. She has also scored in double figures in 15 games and played more than 30 minutes in 10 games.Â
Â
"Jite and Saray are two players that have made huge contributions on both sides of the ball," said head coach Angie Ned. "We're grateful that the conference has recognized their impact and look forward to playing in the tournament this week."
Â
CSUN is set to take on the Cal State Fullerton Titans in the opening round of the 2026 Credit Union 1 Big West Women's Basketball Championship on Wednesday, March 11 in Henderson Nev. The Matadors are seeded eighth in the championship while the Titans are seeded fifth. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ with tip off at noon while Ghizal Hasan will have the call in an audio only broadcast at GoMatadors.com/Radio. The winner of the matchup will take on fourth-seeded Hawai'i on Thursday.
