Second Round 311 Drops CSUN to 18th at El Macero Classic

EL MACERO, Calif. - After posting a 10-over 298 in round one, the CSUN men's golf team struggled to a +23, 311 in the second round and slipped from 14th into 18th place after 36 holes of the El Macero Classic on Friday at El Macero Country Club.
Pacific (574), which led after round one, leads by four shots in the team competition, while Lequan Wang of UC Davis took over the individual lead at 5-under 135.
Junior Ethan Pusthumus is the low CSUN player through two rounds after carding four birdies in a round of 1-over 73 on Saturday. Posthumus, who began the day tied for 69th, had four birdies and five bogeys in the second round, moved up into a tie for 36th at 5-over 149.

- Following Posthumus, Domenic De Luca slipped into a tie for 56th at 7-over 151. De Luca, who began the day tied for 25th, had a pair of birdies in round two to finish at 6-over 78.
- Bryson Barnes, who was tied for 11th after an even-par 72 on Friday, carded an 8-over 80 on Saturday to slip into a tie for 66th at 8-over 152.
- Tavin Boman followed up a round of 5-over 77 on Friday with a 10-over 82 in round two to slip into a tie for 95th at 15-over 159.
- Liam Judkins is a shot behind Boman in 95th place at 16-over 160 following rounds of 80-80.
UP NEXT
CSUN will be paired with Gonzaga and Texas-Arlington for the final round, which gets underway on Sunday with tee times starting at 9:50 a.m.
