WBB’s Sophia Dignadice Named to Gilas Pilipinas Women's National Team Pool

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.--- CSUN women's basketball student-athlete Sophia Dignadice has been named to the 17-player pool for the Gilas Pilipinas Women's National Team as it prepares for the FIBA Women's Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament 2026.
The tournament will be held Aug. 17-23 in Guadalajara, Mexico, and marks the first step in the qualification process for the LA 2028 Olympic Games.
Dignadice is among 17 players selected to represent the Philippines under first-year head coach BT Toews, who recently took over the national team program.
The Philippines has been drawn into Group B alongside Canada, host Mexico, and Senegal. The winner of the tournament will advance to the FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments, while the remaining teams will have another opportunity to qualify for the Olympics through their respective continental championships.
Dignadice's selection to the national team pool continues her international basketball experience while representing both CSUN and the Philippines on the international stage.
Dignadice is an incoming freshman for the 2026-27 season. She is from Torrance, Calif. and played high school basketball at Bishop Montgomery High School.
