The Matador Track & Field Complex features a nine-lane track with a full scoreboard that is is oriented in a North/South alignment to take advantage of either of the most common prevailing wind conditions. 

The north end of the complex has an expansive area for the high jump, with enough room to run two pits simultaneously.

The complex also features four horizontal jump pits situated in each corner of the infield, allowing either long jump or triple jump to be contested with favorable winds.

There are two shot put rings and a discus ring on each end of the infield. The javelin runway is at the North end of the facility, adjacent to the high jump area and the hammer event is conducted at North Campus Stadium.

The pole vault pit is situated on the east side of the complex and was updated in 2014. 

The steeplechase barriers are fully adjustable to accommodate female participants. 

The facility most recently hosted the 2013 Big West Conference Outdoor Championships and in 2008 hosted both the Big West Championships as well as the NCAA Western Regional Championships. The facility, which has hosted a conference championship eight times in its history, also hosted the 2004 NCAA Western Regional.

The track is located in a bowl shaped depression with festival seating for more than 5,000 fans.
