Joao Favarim appeared in 23 matches and 81 sets in his first season at CSUN ... started 20 matches at middle blocker ... finished his first season with 80 kills while averaging 0.99 kills per set ... wound up hitting .389 on 144 swings, which ranked third on the team ... committed just 24 hitting errors on the season ... ranked fourth in the team with 47 total blocks, which included five solo blocks ... also contributed 22 digs (0.27 dps), eight assists and four aces on the season ... had three kills on .600 hitting in his first collegiate match against Tusculum at the UCSB Invitational (Jan. 9) ... put down a season-high nine kills on a season-high 12 attacks without an error to hit .750 in CSUN's 3-1 win over No. 19 Princeton (Mar. 12) ... had three kills on three swings to hit 1.000 in a 3-0 win over Purdue Fort Wayne (Jan. 17) ... finished 7-1-10 to hit .600 in a 3-1 win over Jessup (Feb. 14) ... notched a season-high five blocks in CSUN's 3-1 win over No. 8 Grand Canyon (Feb. 19) ... scooped up a season-high four digs in a straight-set win over Missouri S&T (Jan. 10) and had single aces in a match four times.
