Thomas Osburn will begin his eighth season as CSUN Director of Operations in the Fall of 2020. A veteran with over 20 years of experience in Southern California boys' basketball, Osburn will have administrative duties and other responsibilities at CSUN.
Since joining the Matadors, Osburn has helped lead CSUN to new heights. Affectionately known as "TO" by the CSUN staff and student-athletes, Osburn has been a part of three Big West Tournament Championships and three NCAA Tournament appearances.Â
For over 20 seasons, Osburn was a successful high school boys' basketball coach. His student-athletes went on to play throughout all the divisions of NCAA intercollegiate athletics.
He spent 10 years at Bellflower High School as the head coach and was former CSUN head coach Jason Flowers' head coach during his time with the Buccaneers. Prior to coming to CSUN, Osburn was the boys' basketball head coach at Cavalry Chapel Downey, where he led the team for 11 years. In 2006, the team finished as the CIF Division V Runners-up.
He also spent several seasons as the softball head coach at Cavalry Chapel Downey. His squad captured the 2011 CIF Division VI Championship and three of his student-athletes have committed to Division I softball programs.
Personally, Osburn has been married to his wife Suzanne for over 30 years and the couple has two sons, Anthony and Corey. Osburn is the proud grandfather of Aiden and he and his wife reside in Anaheim. He received a degree in Behaviorial Science from National University in 2000.
