Cooper Hopkins opens his second season as the voice of Matador Softball in 2026-27. Hopkins made his ESPN+ debut for CSUN in 2025 and has covered multiple Matador sports (softball, baseball, women’s basketball, women’s soccer, men’s soccer, and men’s volleyball) in both play-by-play and color commentary roles.
During the 2025 football season, Hopkins worked alongside his mentor, Tony Castricone (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), as a spotter and statistician in the Washington Huskies radio booth. In 2026, he’ll support Elise Woodward, the new voice of Husky football.
Hopkins' prior experience includes covering the National Hockey League on the Colorcast platform, with broadcast partner John Ott (Media Director, MIHL), and announcing MLB Spring Training and Opening Week games. Hopkins, a finalist for the San Diego Padres PA announcer position in 2014, has announced MLB games featuring the Padres, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Cleveland Guardians.
Hopkins, who resides in Los Angeles with his wife Jen, began his broadcasting journey in and around his hometown of Seattle as an announcer, host, and reporter at the high school, junior college, and NCAA D-II levels.
