Dr. Anna Chaparyan earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from the University of Southern California, School of Pharmacy, in 2008. She began her career as a community retail pharmacist and very quickly became the Pharmacy Manager.
In December of 2020, Dr. Chaparyan became the Lead Pharmacist at the CSUN Klotz Student Health Center and, in 2024 served as President of the San Fernando Pharmacists’ Association. She is a natural leader.
Dr. Chaparyan has expanded her expertise through training in pharmacogenomic and nutrigenomic testing and holds certification in anti-doping practices. She is actively involved in the SportsRx Network and the U.S. Sports Pharmacy Network, collaborating with pharmacists nationwide to advance athlete health and safety.
While her professional foundation is in pharmaceuticals, Dr. Chaparyan’s philosophy centers on prevention and holistic care. She emphasizes non-pharmacological strategies- such as nutrition, hydration, sleep, stress management, and exercise- as first-line interventions. When counseling students, she devotes quality time to ensure they understand how to safely use medications, supplements, herbals, and over-the-counter products, tailored to athletes’ unique health and performance needs.
Truly, Dr. Chaparyan has become a key member of the interdisciplinary CSUN Sports Medicine Team.
