Kylee Matheson joined the CSUN Sports Medicine staff in July 2026 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. She works primarily with the Matador men's and women's indoor volleyball programs.

Prior to joining CSUN, Matheson earned her master's degree in athletic training from Long Beach State. During her graduate program, she gained clinical experience with the reigning national champion men's volleyball team while providing care for NCAA Division I, community college, and high school student-athletes. She also completed a clinical internship in orthopedic physical therapy.

A 2023 graduate of Stanford, Matheson earned her bachelor's degree with Distinction in human biology and a minor in psychology. She competed as a Division I beach volleyball student-athlete and, as one of the few NCAA Division I student-athletes competing with cerebral palsy, developed a passion for individualized patient care and helping athletes overcome unique challenges.

In 2023, she was asked to represent Stanford Athletics at the Pac-12 Health Equity Summit, leading a panel discussion on adaptive athletes and accessibility in collegiate sports medicine.

Matheson has been a NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer since May 2026 and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the California Athletic Trainers' Association.

Originally from Laguna Beach, Calif., Matheson enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, writing, reading, staying active, and cheering on her favorite sports teams.
