Nick Alfonso enters his first season as a member of the CSUN Baseball staff as director of operations in 2025-26.
Alfonso comes to CSUN after spending a season with Los Angeles Mission College as pitching coach and recruiting coordinator. With the Eagles, Alfonso worked with the team’s pitchers, helping mentor and guide student-athletes to the next level of college baseball.
He also spent Fall 2024 as a pitching coach for the Cincinnati Reds Scout Team where he coached elite high school pitchers in the Southern California area and worked alongside MLB scouts to develop pro-level talent.
Alfonso previously was the pitching coach at Burbank High School from 2020-24. There, he coached 60-plus pitchers across both varsity and junior varsity. He would spend the 2022 Summer as well as an assistant at Crespi High School.
In addition, Alfonso possess experience coaching summer baseball, most recently with Team Philippines, the CCL Summer Team in 2025. He also served as pitching coach in 2024 with the Ventura County Bucs of the California Sunset Collegiate League.
Prior to coaching, Alfonso played two seasons at Los Angeles Valley College from 2018-20. He later transferred to California Baptist University to finish his undergraduate studies.
