Terrance Knighten was named CSUN's Director of Events and Facilities in March, 2023. In his role, Knighten handles day-to-day facility needs and responsibilities, including all maintenance, upkeep and upgrades. Additionally, he is responsible for leading CSUN's game management and events team for all 19 NCAA Division-I sports.
In addition to overseeing the Events and Facilities unit, Knighten has direct game operations oversight for the Matador men's and women's basketball, men's and women's golf, and women's tennis programs.
Prior to CSUN, Knighten served as the Event Manager for multiple venues in the greater Los Angeles area. He primarily handled all security and guest service operations at the LA Coliseum, LA Convention Center, BMO Stadium and the Galen Center at USC. Knighten began his career in event management with the Las Vegas Raiders in their first season in Las Vegas in 2020.
Collegiately, Knighten was a three-year letterman in football at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and also lettered for one season at the University of North Alabama. As an offensive lineman for the D-II Lions, Knighten played in the 2016 National Championship.
After his playing days ended, Knighten transitioned to coaching in 2017 when he served as an offensive line coach at Birmingham High School in Los Angeles. After three seasons at Birmingham, he moved to the collegiate level to take the running backs/fullbacks coaching position at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2019.
A 2017 graduate of Florida A&M University, Knighten received his bachelor’s degree in HPER with a concentration in recreation. He then went on to earn his master’s degree in education in intercollegiate athletics from UNLV in 2020.
Terrance and wife Samantha have one son, Karter and reside in Van Nuys, Calif.
