Zack Rome is in his first year as a member of the CSUN Strategic Communications department in 2024-25. He serves as CSUN's contact for the women's basketball, softball, men’s soccer and cross country teams.
Rome previously served as a media relations assistant for the Matadors from 2017-19, when he was an undergrad. He was the primary contact for the CSUN cross country/track and field, the women’s tennis and women’s water polo programs. He also assisted on the statistics crew for men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s volleyball and baseball.
After graduating, Rome landed a role as a media relations assistant for the AA minor league baseball team, the Chattanooga Lookouts in Tennessee for the 2020 season.
After working in Minor League Baseball during the COVID-19 shortened season, Rome moved to Arizona for opportunities with the Phoenix Suns and Major League Baseball. His role for both sports was a game-day statistician from 2021-2023. He served as the primary stats caller for the Phoenix Suns during their most successful regular season in team history, finishing with a record of 64-18.
Rome graduated from CSUN in December 2019 with his bachelor's degree in journalism.
