Hayden Carter

Hayden Carter enters his second season with CSUN Baseball in 2017-18. He primarily assists with administrative duties related to the team.Â
In addition to his work with the Matadors, Carter has served as pitching coach for Perfect Game Collegiate League, Jamestown Jammers, the last two summers. He finished the 2017 season ranked 30th in the country according to Collegiate Summer Baseball.Â
Before joining CSUN, Carter worked as a volunteer bullpen coach with Palomar College in San Marcos, CA. In 2016, Palomar finished with 24 victories while the pitching staff posted a 3.69 ERA for the season.Â
Before coaching, Carter had a standout career with CSU Bakersfield from 2012-15. As a senior, Carter earned Western Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year honors after posting nine wins and a 2.44 ERA over 125 innings. He helped lead the Roadrunners to the 2015 NCAA Los Angeles Regional and to the team's first ever Division I NCAA Tournament victory with a complete game against Ole Miss. Carter received NCAA All-Tournament Team honors in the Los Angeles Region.Â
Originally from Oceanside, CA, Carter attended Vista High School and graduated in 2011.
An accomplished student, Carter received WAC All-Academic Team honors from 2013-15. He also earned his Bachelor's in Communications, graduating Cum Laude at CSU Bakersfield.Â
