Bob Gaona was inducted into the CSUN Hall of Fame in 1982. Gaona swam for head coach Pete Accardy and was a member of San Fernado Valley State's (CSUN) NCAA Championship team in 1975.
Gaona won the 1975 NCAA title in the 400-yard individual medley and was a member of the NCAA Champion 400-yard medley relay team. He would win two more titles in 1976, capturing the 200-yard IM and the 400-yard IM while setting NCAA records in the process.
Gaona, who was also a three-time All-CCAA selection, graduated from CSUN in 1977.
