NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - CSUN head coach Jeff Hall has finalized the Matadors' 2027 beach volleyball schedule as the program opens its 14th season of the sport on Feb. 25 with a home quad dual.
The quad dual against Grace University, Ottowa University, and The Master's University opens the Matadors' second season under Hall. In total, CSUN will play 26 regular-season matches before the 2027 Big West Beach Championship gets underway in late April. CSUN will also play a full fall schedule as it gears up for a challenging spring slate.
"What a great spring schedule, we will have five home contests this year and are looking forward to CSUN fans supporting the Beach team," said Hall. "We have several road trips scheduled this year, highlighted by a trip to Arizona as well as Northern California. This schedule is filled with opportunities and challenges, and we look forward to exciting competition for the 2027 beach season." Â
After the season-opening quad dual, the Matadors will travel to Oceanside to take on MiraCosta College on Feb. 26, before returning home to host Grace University on Feb. 27.
March opens with CSUN playing in the prestigious Battle for LA tournament at USC. The Matadors will play a series of dual matches at Merle Norman Stadium on Mar. 5-6. The Matadors return to USC on Mar. 9 for a tri-dual against the host Trojans and Concordia Irvine. The annual Big West Challenge is slated for Mar. 12-13 in Sacramento as the Matadors will take on Cal State Bakersfield, Cal Poly on Mar. 12 and Hawai'i, Long Beach State, and Sacramento State on Mar. 13.
CSUN's longest home stretch of the season begins on Mar. 19 as the Matadors host Benedictine (AZ) at noon. A home tri-dual against Cal State LA and Park University (AZ) is slated for Mar. 20, before the homestand wraps up with a tri-dual against Cal State Bakersfield and Life Pacific on Mar. 26.
The Matadors open the month of April at Cal State Bakersfield (Apr. 3) before traveling to Tucson, Ariz. to meet Grand Canyon and UTEP on Apr. 9 followed by dual matches against Arizona and Arizona State on April. 10. The final regular season tri-dual takes the Matadors across the Valley to Malibu as CSUN meets Pepperdine and Hope International on April. 16.
"We are looking forward to a fall of competition," Hall added. "We were able to schedule four unique events, all with different formats that will allow us to experiment with different Pairs. We have seven new student-athletes on the beach team and need to get them playing experience as soon as possible."
