- Induction:

- Class:
- 1968
Bruce Lemmerman was a member of the inaugural class inducted into the CSUN Athletics Hall of Fame in 1981. Lemmerman played for the San Fernando Valley State (CSUN) Football team from 1965 to 1967, famously guiding the Matadors to their first winning season and an appearance in the 1967 Junior Rose Bowl.

During his three-year collegiate career under head coach Sam Winningham, Lemmerman established himself as a dominant dual-threat playmaker. He set 12 school records during his playing career, many of which stood for decades. Lemmerman totaled 4,473 passing yards and 37 touchdown passes. In 1967, he threw for 27 touchdowns and rushed for an additional eight TD's. He holds the school record for most passing touchdowns (5) and most rushing touchdowns (4) in a single game. A true dual threat, he also held the school record for the longest punt at 77 yards.
Lemmerman was a two-time All-CCAA selection (1966, 1967) and was the first CSUN quarterback to ever play in the NFL.
Lemmerman, who graduated from CSUN in 1968, was also a standout third baseman for the CSUN baseball team and went on to play professional football in both the NFL and CFL. He signed with the Atlanta Falcons, appearing in 11 games across the 1968 and 1969 seasons. He then spent nearly a decade with the Edmonton Eskimos (now Elks), winning multiple Grey Cups as part of a famous quarterback tandem with Tom Wilkinson. Lemmerman later served as an assistant coach for the Houston Oilers and became a prominent front-office executive and scout for the Edmonton Eskimos, Kansas City Chiefs, and New Orleans Saints.
