Jeff Gilbert

Jeff Gilbert was inducted into the CSUN Hall of Fame in 1984. Gilbert lettered for the San Fernando Valley State (CSUN) Baseball team from 1974 to 1977.
Gilbert was selected as an All-American in 1976 and 1977 along with a two-time All-District and All-CCAA selection as an outfielder.  He was also selected to play for the USA College team that toured Japan in 1977.
Gilbert helped CSUN win the CCAA championship in 1975, culminating in a trip to the NCAA Championship. Overall, he helped the Matadors reach the postseason three times in his CSUN career.Â
In school history, Gilbert remains in the all-time top-10 in seven career and season categories. His 47 career doubles are still fifth-best in school history while he is ninth in career runs scored (152) and 10th in career hits (235).Â
Gilbert was drafted by the California Angels in the 14th round of the 1976 MLB June Amateur Draft.
