Markus Carr was inducted into the CSUN Athletics Hall of Fame in 2014. He lettered for the CSUN Men's Basketball team from 1998-2002, earning first-team All-Big Sky Conference honors in 1999-2000 and 2000-01, and first-team All-Big West honors in 2001-02.
As a junior in 2000-01, Carr led the Nation in assists, averaging 8.9 per game. He is still CSUN's all-time leader in assists with 767 in 119 games and ranks second in program history with 252 steals in 119 career games. Carr averaged 16.0 points per game as a senior in 2001-02.
Carr helped lead the Matadors to a 22-10 overall record (13-3 Big Sky) in 2000-01 as CSUN defeated Eastern Washington (73-58) in the Big Sky Championship to their first NCAA Tournament appearance at the Division I level. CSUN went on to take on No. 12 Kansas in the first round of the 2001 NCAA Tournament. He set a Big West single-game record with 11 steals against Dominican on Nov. 20, 2001, and shares the CSUN single-game record with 15 on two different occasions. Also remains the single-season assists leader in program history with 286 assists in 2000-01 and set the CSUN Basketball record for most consecutive free throws made with 32 in a row.

Upon induction into the CSUN Hall of Fame, Carr appeared in the Top 10 list for 34 different men's basketball records. He went on to play in several European countries and South America (France, Venezuela, Poland, Bosnia, and Hungary). Carr played three seasons for BC Vienna in Liga.1 Austria (2009–2012). During the 2014-15 season, he played for the "Raiders Villach" in Liga 2 Carinthia, both of the Austrian Basketball Budesliga. He was an Austrian All Star Basketball Team Selection in 2012.
Carr graduated from CSUN in 2002.
