Scia Maumausolo was inducted into the CSUN Athletics Hall of Fame in 2001. Maumausolo, who lettered from 1993 to 1996, was one of the most prolific offensive players to step on the diamond for the Northridge softball team.
Maumausolo was selected as a first-team All-American twice during her four-year tenure and as a second-teamer once. All four years, she was a member of the All-Conference team.
A catcher, Maumausolo still holds school career records for home runs (46), runs batted in (163) and doubles (36). Her .374 career batting average ranks second all-time. Maumausolo’s .482 batting average in 1995 is the best single-season mark at Northridge. In addition, her record-setting 17 home runs in 1996 have yet to be passed. She appears in nine of the 11 Matador career charts.
Maumausolo was drafted by the Virginia Roadsters of the WPSL in 1999, when she was selected for the All-Star game and won the game’s MVP honors.
In 2000, Maumausolo spent the season with the Florida Wahoos, who won the WPSL championship.
Maumausolo graduated from CSUN with a degree in Psychology. She served as an assistant varsity softball coach at Harvard-Westlake High School, and also gives private instruction in the sport of softball.
