Stephen Brodi

Stephen Brodi was inducted into the CSUN Athletics Hall of Fame in 1988. An NCAA champion and multi-time All-American, Brodi competed with the Matador track & field program from 1978 to 1981.Â

Brodi became the first Matador athlete to win a national title in the 100 meters at the 1979 NCAA Division II Championships with a time of 10.29. He also claimed the CCAA 100-meter championship that season.Â
He went on to earn All-America honors for the Matadors four times in his career, beginning with two awards in 1978 (100 meters, 400 meters relay). Brodi also picked up All-America accolades in the 100 meters in 1979 and 1981.Â
He held the top CSUN mark in the 100 meters in school history for 20 years until his time was broken in 1998 by Joe Criner.
After his time at CSUN, Brodi qualified for the U.S. Olympic Trials in 1984.
