Steve Duddy was inducted into the CSUN Athletics Hall of Fame in 1991. Duddy lettered for the Matador football team under head coach Tom Keele in 1981 and 1982.
He was named Western Football Conference Player of the Year in 1982 in addition to being a Western Football Conference first-team Offensive selection.
Duddy was selected as CSUN Most Valuable Player on Offense and was a team captain in 1982. During his career, he set four CSUN season and career records at quarterback and still ranks seventh in career passing completion percentage (.537) and eighth in career passing yards (3,355). Duddy also ranks in the top 10 for a single season in program history in passing yards (2,705 in 1982), attempts (384 in 1982), completions (207 in 1982) and touchdowns (21 in 1982).
