NORTHRIDGE, Calif. ---On Monday evening, 45 freshman and transfer student-athletes gathered in The Matadome for an ice cream social and the kickoff of The Matador Connection Peer-to-Peer Transition Program. The new program focuses on supporting student-athletes new to CSUN with their transition to college and the campus. Throughout the year, these rookie student-athletes will participate in a series of workshops led by campus staff and professionals that help walk the student-athletes through their first year at CSUN by tackling areas that often impact initial success. They'll focus on test anxiety, professor communication study skills and more. Upperclass student-athletes will also lead small-scale discussions on the same topics.
On Monday, a group of junior and senior student-athletes answered questions about everything from their favorite place to eat on campus to how they stay organized and on top of their schedules.
