Â
"We had an interesting of practice and preparation for this game," said CSUN head coach Jason Flowers. "I thought our kids responded really well, especially in the first half. They came out with a purpose on the defensive end. The second half was tough. Granted we haven't been in that situation very much this year, but I thought we didn't handle having the lead well. We will use it as a learning experience and see what we can do to improve and get ready for a well-coached UC Riverside team."

The Matadors (9-9, 2-2 Big West) host UC Riverside (6-13, 3-2 Big West) Saturday night. ESPN 3 coverage of the contest begins at 7 p.m.
