NORTHRIDGE, Calif.--CSUN returns to the women's basketball court this week for a pair of games. The Matadors travel to UC Riverside Thursday night for a 7 p.m. tip.

The Highlanders are 7-18, 4-7 in Big West play. Michelle Curry is fourth in the Big west in scoring at 15.9 ppg while teammate Lauren Holt is seventh in the conference in the category at 15.0 ppg. Skyler Lewis is fourth in the Big West in rebounding at 8.0 rpg. CSUN defeated UC Riverside 60-55 Jan. 20 in Northridge to take a 33-29 all-time series lead.

The Matadors return home Saturday and will host Cal Poly at 4 p.m. Saturday's promotion is Read with the Matadors. The 2018 CSUN Athletic Hall of Fame class will be recognized at halftime.

Cal Poly is in third place in the Big West as the Mustangs are 8-3 in conference action. Cal Poly is 14-9 overall. Three-time Big West Player of the Week Dynn Leaupepe is the league's leading scorer as she is averaging 20.9 points per game. She is also the conference leader in free throw shooting (.843) and steals (2.5). Her twin sister Lynn is eighth in the Big West in rebounding (6.2). Cal Poly defeated CSUN 84-71 Jan. 13 in San Luis Obispo. The Mustangs lead the all-time series 40-37.

CSUN dropped a pair of games last week. The Matadors lost 59-51 to Long Beach State last Thursday before losing to league leader, UC Davis, 72-46 on Saturday. Tessa Boagni surpassed the 900-point career point plateau at UC Davis and has 901 career points entering this week's play. She led CSUN last week, averaging 13.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.
