2020 Softball Schedule

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—CSUN head softball coach Tairia Flowers has announced the release of the 2020 Matador schedule.

"We are looking forward to a new season," Flowers said. "With several returners and the newcomers, we have e added we are excited to see what this group can do together."

The season begins with the UNLV Marucci Classic Feb. 7-9 before the Matadors travel to Stockton for the Libby Matson Classic Feb. 14-16. Week three sees CSUN travel to the Grand Canyon Purple Classic Feb. 21.2-3

The first month of the campaign concludes at the San Diego Classic Feb. 28-Mar. 1. The Matadors home opener is scheduled for Wednesday, Mar. 4 when CSUN hosts St. John's of the Big East Conference. The Matadors return to San Diego for the USD Tournament Mar. 7-8.

CSUN co-hosts a tournament Mar. 13-14 with Loyola Marymount and will welcome DePaul (Mar. 13), a 2019 NCAA Tournament selection, and Idaho State (Mar. 14) before traveling to LMU to face another 2019 NCAA Tournament foe in North Dakota State Mar. 16.

The Big West slate begins with a three-game set at UC Riverside Mar. 28-29. The Matadors' final non-conference game is Mar. 31 at Fresno State. The first home conference series is Apr. 3-4 against defending conference champion Cal State Fullerton. CSUN remains home for the Long Beach State series the following weekend.

CSUN travels to Hawai'i Apr. 17-18 before hosting UC Davis Apr. 25-26. The Matadors head to Cal Poly May 1-2 before wrapping up the regular season May 8-9 at home against UC Santa Barbara.

2020 AT A GLANCE

The season-opener is Feb. 7 against UNLV. CSUN plays the host Rebels twice during the season-opening tournament.
The first of six opponents that made the 2019 NCAA Tournament is set for Feb. 14 against WAC champion Seattle U.
CSUN plays Nevada, the first of three National Invitational Softball Championship selections during the Libby Matson Classic.
The Matadors play Drake, the 2019 Missouri Valley Conference champion twice during the Grand Canyon Tournament.
In addition to playing San Diego State during the San Diego classic, CSUN faces the 2019 Big Sky champion, Weber State, during the classic.
The Matadors play back-to-back Big East Conference opponents, St. John's and Villanova Mar. 4 and Mar. 6. DePaul is the third Big East foe on the schedule.
