LOS ANGELES – The California Commotion announce another signee from the open tryout held at UCLA on Feb. 1.
Â
Savannah Horvath (Las Vegas, Nev.), played her collegiate career at CSUN where she was named the 2015 Big West Co-Freshman of the Year and 2018 Big West Player of the Year. She was a four-time first-team all-conference selection. Horvath hit a home run in her first career at-bat and hit a walk-off home run in her last collegiate at-bat.
In high school, she was named the USA Today's National Junior Player of the Year and Nevada's Gatorade Player of the Year.
Â
"I am beyond excited to join this new franchise," Horvath said. "To be playing the sport I fell in love with professionally is a blessing and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I am so grateful for my family who allow me to chase my dream. I cannot wait to take the field with the California Commotion and be a part of this community."
Â
"Savannah is a special player. She has versatility to play multiple positions for us. She was her conference player of the year and we expect great things from her." said Deb Hartwig – General Manager
Â
In the offseason, Horvath is a member of the Vegas Golden Knights Vegas Vivas.
Â
On March 30, the Commotion will participate in its first NPF College Draft, where the team will attempt to complement the existing roster with drafted college rookies. As the league's newest franchise, the Commotion will not only make the first pick of the 2020 Draft, but will also make the first pick in all five Draft rounds. The Commotion will open their season on April 17th against the Canadian Wild of Southern Illinois at Fresno State University.
