CSUN's Gonzalez Named CSC Academic All-District

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—CSUN's Dylan Gonzalez has been named to the 2022 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, as announced today by the organization.

Gonzalez earned honorable mention All-Conference honors on Nov. 1. Gonzalez led the Matadors in assists with five and was tied for seventh in the Big West in the category with one other player. A redshirt senior, Gonzalez scored his first career goal against Saint Mary's on Sept. 21.

The 2022 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA. This year, the academic qualifications for distinction have been strengthened, with a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade-point average required. Nominated student-athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games this season and should be a starter or important reserve on the field of play.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.

College Sports Communicators began the distinguished Academic All-America® program in 1952, and since then, has honored more than 38,000 deserving student-athletes from numerous sports across all divisions with these elite Academic All-America® scholar-athlete honors.
