Each week during the 2023-24 season, GoMatadors.com selects two Matadors as Student-Athletes of the Week. This week, we highlight women's volleyball's Paige Sentes and men's soccer's AJ Johnson for their individual performances on the court and the field.

Paige Sentes, Women's Volleyball

Freshman defensive specialist Paige Sentes helped the CSUN women's volleyball team to a split in two matches last week. In the Matadors' 3-2 win over Long Beach State, Sentes had three aces, four assists and seven digs. She added eight digs, three aces and a pair of assists against UC San Diego. For the week, Sentes had 15 digs, six aces and six assists.

Johnson scored the game-tying goal in the Matadors' 1-1 draw against Sacramento State. A senior, his goal was the first for Johnson at CSUN since joining the program in 2022 from Salt Lake CC. Johnson played 150 out of 180 minutes in a two-match week for CSUN along the backline.
