Softball Announces the Signing of Rhea Furtado to a National Letter of Intent

NORTHRIDGE, CALIF. - CSUN head softball coach Charlotte Morgan has announced the signing of Rhea Furtado to a National Letter of Intent to continue her softball playing career with the Matadors.

"Rhea is such an amazing athlete all around, said Morgan. "She adds speed, athleticism, IQ, and energy to our program. She is only going to make us better and help us. Rhea will run through a brick wall and she will do whatever it takes to help her team win. She sees what this program can do and she wants to contribute to that. We are beyond excited to see Rhea take off here at CSUN and help us tremendously."

OF/INF, 5-2, Freshman, L/R

Played second base and outfield for the Warriors at Kapaa High School in Kapa'a, Hawai'i.
Was a member of the Warriors' DII state championship team.
Earned All-KIF honors as a utility player in 2022.
Hit .750 with nine hits in 12 at-bats in the state tournament.
Hit .605 with 26 hits in 43 at-bats during the 2022 season.
Boasts a 3.8 grade point average in the classroom.
Also played for the LK Black and Firecrackers travel teams.
Her father, Micah was drafted by the Texas Rangers in 2003 and played four seasons at various levels of minor league baseball.

Furtado joins Larissa Flores in CSUN softball's class of 2025.
