FRESNO, Calif. - Sophomore Fernanda Sosa Stackpole carded a season-low round of 72 to lead the CSUN women's golf team through two rounds of the Fresno State Classic Monday at San Joaquin Country Club.

Sosa Stackpole opened with a 7-over 79 before posting three birdies and 12 pars in round two, finishing with a season-best even-par 72. The CSUN sophomore is currently tied for 31st at 7-over 151 to pace the Matadors.

As a team, CSUN carded rounds of 322-302, posting a 20-shot improvement from round one to round two. At 624, the Matadors are currently 15th in the field.

CSUN SCORES

Freshman Gracie Piar had four birdies in carding an opening round 5-over 77 before posting 15 pars in finishing round two at 4-over 76. Piar is currently tied for 45th at 9-over 153.
Kim Turgut opened Monday with a 12-over 84 before posting a 9-shot improvement in a round two 75. Turgut is tied for 73rd at 15-over 159 heading into the final round.
Grace Bettis posted an opening round 82 before notching a pair of birdies in round two to finish the day tied for 80th at 18-over 162.
Julia Myklebust rounded out the Matador scoring as she is tied for 82nd at 19-over 163 following rounds of 84-79.

CSUN will be paired with Utah Valley and CSU Bakersfield for the final round which gets underway Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m.
