CSUN Winds Up 15th at Fresno State Classic, Big West Championship Next

FRESNO, Calif. - In its final tuneup before the Big West Championship, the CSUN women's golf team finished 15th Tuesday at the Fresno State Classic at San Joaquin Country Club.
The Matadors were 15th after posting rounds of 322-302 on Monday before carding a final round 316 on Tuesday to finish at 76-over 940 as a team. The host Bulldogs claimed the team championship with a three-round total of 23-over 887, five shots in front of Grand Canyon and UC Riverside which tied for second at 28-over 892.
Fernanda Sosa Stackpole, who was the low Matador through 36 holes, finished tied for 45th at 15-over 231. Sosa Stackpole followed up rounds of 79-72 on Monday with a final round 8-over 80.

CSUN will next prepare for the 2023 Big West Championship which gets underway Sunday, Apr. 16 Spanish Trail Golf & Country Club in Las Vegas, Nev. The battle for the conference championship will be contested over three days (Apr. 16-18).Â

CSUNÂ SCORES
- Gracie Piar and Kim Turgut each finished in a tie for 60th at 18-over 234 as Turgut led CSUN with a pair of birdies on Tuesday while Piar had one. Turgut was even-par through six holes before finishing 3-over over her final 13 holes to finish the day at 3-over 75, a team low. Piar finished the final round at 9-over 81 after posting rounds of 77-76 on Monday.
- Grace Bettis matched her low round of the tournament with a final round 8-over 80 on Tuesday. Bettis also had one birdie as she matched her 80 from round two to finish tied for 78th at 26-over 242.Â
- Julia Myklebust rounded out the Matador scoring as she finished 84th at 35-over 251 following rounds of 84-79-88.
