NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---Three CSUN Water Polo student-athletes were named to the 2023 Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches All-America Team on Thursday. Sophomores Dorottya Telek and Anna Pal earned their second All-America selection in as many seasons while sophomore Shelby Hovanesian took home the first award of her career. All three received an Honorable Mention from the ACWPC.
"Receiving three All-American accolades is a true testament to the season we had," said head coach Matt Warshaw. "While it's always nice when other coaches recognize the talent we have on this team, these three student-athletes are well deserving and are outstanding representatives to the university, the team and the culture we have created. I'm very poud of all of them and can't wait to get started next year."

A native of Budapest, Hungary, Telek followed up her outstanding freshman season in 2022 with a banner year this past season. Telek made Matador and Big West history in 2023, breaking the school single-season record and tying the conference's season mark with 101 goals scored. Pal would register at least one point in 26 of 30 contests and multiple goals in eight matches this season. She also finished with six goals, six assists and nine steals in seven Big West matches.

After scoring nine goals as a freshman last season, Hovanesian scored the second-most goals on the team with 33 this season. Hovanesian added 29 steals, 26 assists and 14 field blocks while she competed in 27 games. Her 26 assists ranked ninth-best in The Big West.
A native of La Crescenta, Calif., Hovanesian scored once at least 22 times to go with 10 multiple-scoring performances. Hovanesian had nine assists and seven goals in seven Big West contests.
With this season's trio earning All-America accolades, CSUN has now boasted three All-America honorees in each of the last three seasons of competition.
